How did you hear about the internship? 

I first heard about Transamerica through the Actuarial Science Club. Each year Transamerica hosts a picnic for the club to network with students and inform them of opportunities at the company. I really enjoyed the relaxed nature of the event, which definitely put their internship on my radar.

Why did you choose this particular internship? 

Talking with fellow classmates about their experiences interning at Transamerica, I only heard great things. They emphasized how much they learned and how they got to work on meaningful projects. Also, from my limited interactions with employees, the company culture seemed excellent and very welcoming.

Why should Iowa students consider participating in this internship?

Transamerica puts a lot of work into ensuring that you not only grow professionally in your internship, but that you also get a chance to connect with other employees and interns. They also make sure to teach you about all departments of the company and how the actuaries fit into each. There is always someone to go to with any question you might have throughout the summer. I walked away from both of my internships at Transamerica with a larger network of connections and meaningful development professionally.
