Biography
Nathan Wikle joined the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Iowa as an Assistant Professor in 2023. Prior to joining Iowa, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the University of Texas at Austin. He received his Ph.D. in Statistics from Pennsylvania State University. Dr. Wikle’s research interests include spatial and spatio-temporal statistics, casual inference with interference, Bayesian hierarchical modeling, and statistical inference for dynamical systems. This research is often motivated by problems in environmental science, environmental health, and epidemiology.
