# Minor in Statistics

*Updated 10/10/22*

The minor in statistics requires a minimum of 15 s.h. in statistics courses taken at the University of Iowa and chosen from the specific categories listed below. Courses not listed in these categories may not be chosen for the minor. Students take one course below 3000 and 12 s.h. at the 3000 level and above as dictated by the category choices. Students must maintain a cumulative g.p.a. of at least 2.00 in courses for the minor and in all UI courses for the minor. Course work in the minor may not be taken pass/nonpass.

*NOTE: Due to the sequential nature of statistics courses, the minimal number of non-overlapping semesters required to complete a statistics minor is 3 semesters. For students wishing to complete a statistics minor without taking any mathematical statistics courses, it takes a minimum of 4 semesters. *

Example Plan Of Study (POS) for completing minor without using math/stat courses You do not need to completed CAL 1 or CAL 2.
