Former students from the University of Iowa Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science were named as associates and fellows to the Society of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society.

Qian Tang of the University of Iowa Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science won a travel award from the Statistics Annual Winter Workshop 2023 held by the University of Florida.

Several alumni from the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science are new associates in the Society of Actuaries as of December 2023.
